My future as a midwife

Hello everybody! Today I’m going to talk about of my future as a midwife.
Nowadays, I’m studying the second year of Midwifery in the University of Chile.
This semester I have subjects related with my profession, that have make me think about my professional future in the practice.
I believe that I will emigrate of Santiago to other city as Iquique, because my family is there and I like it.
In Iquique I would work in the hospital or in a “consultorio”, because I lived the experience for one day in the clinical camp the last year and I liked it for the attention delivered in this opportunity for the midwife.
I would like work with the people and for the people teaching them and prevent them in the different areas related with my task.
I think that after of finish the career, I would like work in day’s shifts and night’s shifts for increase my experience and acquire practice skills for be a good professional.
In the future I would like work in the area of obstetric or gynecology because, by one hand, I like relate with the people and deliver them all the knowledge that I know and, by other hand, I would like pay attention to all mother in this beautiful moment in her life and of her family.
Finally, I would like to do a specialization in neonatology after my studies.

My favorite subject

Hello everybody! This week I’m going to talk about my favorite subject in my career. This semester in my innovated curriculum of Midwifery, I have Obstetric Physiology that is a subject very related with my future profession, because delivers the technical concepts for the next subjects and for confront the work camp of the next semester.
This subject delivers a sound grounding in science and the foundations for explain the physiologic process in the women and her fertile cycle and the morphology changes in the fetus.
To date, I have seen the locals and generals anatomic changes in the mother and the fetus during the gestation. To my mind, this is very interesting because is the pillar principal of this career. Without her, we are not at all.
The easiest contents of this subject are the changes of the embryo and the most difficult of the class are the contents that we are learning now, that are the locals and generals anatomic and physiology changes in the mother in the second and third semester.
The teachers that give this class are midwives of the Midwifery School and a veterinarian that taught us the changes in the fetus.
About my grades this are not bad. This are in the average.
Now I hope learn all the concepts for be a good midwife.

Hello everyone! Today I’m going to talk about a career-related website that I visit. This is www.u-cursos.cl.

This website is a digital tool for the students and teachers of the University of Chile that consists to provide the support’s material, like papers, presentations and other for facilitate the studies of the different subjects.

This material is uploaded everyday for the teachers and can be downloaded for every student that has a password.

I visit this website once or twice daily, to know the news of the university or of the class.
This website has a list of the subject that I study this semester. As well has a forum, an email, for contact to the teachers and classmate, a section for publish the partial marks and a section for upload the material for the students.

In my opinion this website is very important and necessary for all the students, because is a support for the best performance and preparation of the different subjects. It’s important that the teachers are engaged with this tool and deliver their presentations to the students.
